That’s why the Newly Diagnosed Patient Information Consultation program was created to help patients who are or have been recently diagnose navigate and understand the dynamics of CKD and ESRD. The Strategy of the Kidney Disease Education Workshop (KDEWS) is to increase community awareness of primary prevention and early detection and prevent and control disease progression in African American communities at risk for chronic kidney disease (CKD). The workshop is designed to educate individuals who are living with or at risk for chronic kidney disease (CKD). Providing self-care workshops is a central part of care. KDEWS provides straightforward and comprehensive information to individuals can encourage self-management and support informed decision making, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes.
